Within four miles are several trout and course fishing lakes. Full-size golf courses, bowling, a boating lake and tennis courts are available. Newquay Zoo is a popular tourist attraction and also at Newquay are indoor fun pools with flumes.

Truro

Truro is Cornwall's 'cathedral city' about 12 miles away from Holywell Bay. With a population of less than 20,000 Truro is a charming and attractive city with cobbled streets, an excellent mixture of large stores and individual shops, a museum and an art gallery and, of course, the cathedral.

Depending on the tide, it is possible to take a picturesque boat trip down the estuary of the River Fal. Truro also has a cinema, tennis courts, parks and an indoor swimming pool.
